İFO Fuarcılık will organize Occupational Health and Safety Fair ‘ISG Eurasia 2016’ on 28-30 April 2016. Zekeriya Aytemur, Managing Director of İFO Fuarcılık indicated that, according to ILO data, there is a global workforce of 3 billion and on average there are 270 million work related accidents every year. Unfortunately Turkey is ranked as one of the worst performing countries. Mr. Aytemur highlighted that the latest technology solutions designed to minimize the risk of accidents at work will be on display at ISG Eurasia 2016 which will be organized at Tüyap Fair & Congress Center Istanbul, an important event for all companies but particularly those employing workers in mainly construction, mining, transportation and metal industry sectors, where the number of work accidents is very high.
According to the data of the International Labour Organization (ILO), 270 million work related accidents occur around the world every year with the construction sector recording the highest number. It is followed by transportation, mining and metal sectors.

According to numbers from the Social Security Authority, 74,871 work related accidents occurred in 2012 and 191,389 recorded in 2013, representing a staggering 291% increase. In 2014, this increase continued with 221,366 accidents occurring. Data for 2015 has not yet been released by the Social Security Authority but it is forecast that the figures will be above those of last year.
Accidents and occupational diseases caused by unhealthy working conditions lead to a substantial economic loss
According to the data of the International Labour Organization (ILO), work accidents and occupational diseases in developing countries lead to an economic loss of 4% of the gross domestic product (GDP). Considering this ratio, it is estimated that total cost of work accidents and occupational diseases based on the 2012 GDP of Turkey, is TL56.7 billion, TL62.7 billion in 2013 and TL70.6 billion in 2014.
