As an employer, you have a legal responsibility to look after your employees\u2019 safety and protect them against health and safety hazards at work. Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation requires that all foreseeable hazards are identified and the risks arising from these hazards are eliminated or controlled. Hazards and risks present in the workplace may need to be assessed to determine what consequences could result, to allocate a risk level or rating and to determine priorities for actions to be implemented to ensure the health and safety of workers. According to the new approach in Risk Assessment, Employers are required to carry out a Risk Assessment for health and safety, including the status of employees who may be affected by specific risks in the workplace.<\/p>\n<p>According to the law, the risk assessment carried out for the workplace should be renewed according to the hazard class for the periods specified below.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>2 years in very dangerous workplaces<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>4 years in dangerous workplaces<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>6 years in less dangerous workplaces<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The risk assessment should be renewed in whole or in part, considering that the new risks that may arise from the following situations affect all or part of the workplace.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #4593bc;\"><strong>a)<\/strong><\/span> Carriage of buildings or changes in buildings<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #4593bc;\"><strong>b)<\/strong><\/span> Changes in technology, materials, and equipment used in the workplace<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #4593bc;\"><strong>c)<\/strong><\/span> Changes in the production method<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #4593bc;\"><strong>d)<\/strong><\/span> Work accident, occupational disease or occurrence<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #4593bc;\"><strong>e)<\/strong><\/span> There is a legislative change regarding the limit values of the working environment<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #4593bc;\"><strong>f)<\/strong><\/span> Work environment measurement and health surveillance results<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #4593bc;\"><strong>g)<\/strong><\/span> The emergence of a new danger arising out of the workplace and affecting the workplace<\/p>\n<p>Risk management is a legal requirement for all businesses and basically, it follows through an application that four steps and involves used to describe the overall process asking the questions:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #4593bc;\"><strong>1-<\/strong><\/span>To Identify hazards and risk factors that have the potential to cause harm (hazard identification). What hazards exist in the workplace?<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #4593bc;\"><strong>2-<\/strong><\/span>To Analyze and evaluate the risks associated with those hazards (risk analysis, and risk evaluation). How serious are the hazards?<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #4593bc;\"><strong>3-<\/strong><\/span>To Determine appropriate ways to eliminate the hazard or control the risk when the hazard cannot be eliminated (risk control). what can be done to control these hazards?<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #4593bc;\"><strong>4-<\/strong> <\/span>To hazards review and record.
